Although it's been one month since the controversial death of television actress Pratyusha Banerjee, the blame game between the actress' parents, her friends and her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh continues to make headlines.
Recently, Rahul accused Pratyusha's friend Kamya Punjabi of defaming him and blaming him for the actress' death. He alleged that Kamya had borrowed Rs.2.5 lakhs from Pratyusha and never returned the amount. However, Kamya refuted the allegation.
And now Kamya has made a shocking revelation. The actress said that she had been getting threat calls for talking against Rahul and tarnishing his image. However, Kamya said she is unaffected by it and is not scared of anyone. "Yes, I am getting threat calls. But I am Kamya Punjabi, I am not scared of anyone. Rahul is targetting me. You think I care? He knows that I will not give up easily. He knows that I am fearless and what I am saying is on behalf of several others in the industry. There are many out there who do not want to come out in the open, so they are telling me. I am their voice too," Kamya told Mid-Day.
Kamya further said that she was disappointed with the delay in the justice for the "Balika Vadhu" actress, and that Rahul, the prime suspect in Pratyusha's alleged suicide, was yet to get punished. "A girl has lost her life and he has not spent a single night in jail. Pratyusha's parents are going from pillar to post to get justice for her. There has to be some punishment so that it acts as a deterrent for others. Any man will think 50 times before raising his hand on a woman," she added.
Meanwhile, on Monday, May 9, Pratyusha's parents met Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi and insisted that their daughter's case be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The home minister has assured the elderly couple that he will personally look into the matter.
"We are not happy with the way that the police has looked into the matter so far, there are still many unanswered questions, and we really can't take their snail's pace and inadequacy anymore," Pratyusha's mother Soma Banerjee told SpotboyE.
