Still reeling under the shock of popular television actress Pratyusha Banerjee's untimely death, her friends and fans are glued to every report emerging about what prompted the 24-year-old actress to take the extreme step.
It has been revealed in the post-mortem report that it was a "clear case of suicide," and the reason so far being attributed to it was the troubles she was facing with boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh. The latest buzz is that Pratyusha had apparently learnt about Rahul's alleged relationship with TV actress Saloni Sharma recently.
While Rahul in his statement to the police said he took Pratyusha to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital, where she was pronounced dead, cops are yet to summon Saloni regarding Pratyusha's death. However, a report in Tellychakkar.com stated that Saloni had apparently threatened both Pratyusha and Rahul more than once.
According to the report, Saloni had apparently threatened Pratyusha with a knife. "Once we met up during a shoot and witnessing her too tired I asked her what was wrong. To which she replied she spent a sleepless night because of Saloni, who visited their love nest to threaten her," a source close to Pratyusha told the website.
"We have seen Rahul living a reckless life. With Saloni being involved into the issue, we would ask her many a times to let Rahul go. But Rahul would eventually convince her that he loved Pratyusha and not the other woman. Moreover when someone blindly loves another person, no one can actually do anything about it," the friend added.
However, Saloni opened up on the allegations and refuted the reports that she had blackmailed Pratyusha. Saloni said that it was Pratyusha who had actually threatened her. "I am holding a press conference tomorrow. I will answer all questions and clarify everything. But rest assured that the knife theory is a big lie. To the contrary, Pratyusha used to threaten me and I kept quiet all along," Saloni told Tellychakkar.com.
Pratyusha was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her apartment in suburban Kandivli Friday, April 1. The actress was cremated in Oshiwara electric crematorium in Mumbai, Saturday evening. For the last rites, the "Balika Vadhu" actress was draped in bridal attire.
