The untimely death of Pratyusha Banerjee Friday, April 1, has shocked her fans as well as the Television fraternity. Even as reports have been doing the rounds that the actress took the drastic step due to her troubled relationship with boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, more details on Pratyusha's troubled life have surfaced.
The buzz is that the duo was in Carnival mall in Mumbai, Friday, when they got involved in a heated argument resulting in Rahul slapping the actress in public. Apparently, Pratyusha fell down due to the impact of the slap and was not offered any help to get off the ground. Later in the evening, the 24-year-old actress was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her apartment in suburban Kandivli.
Reportedly, this is not the first incident when the actress was a victim of physical abuse. "Her life was in an absolute mess. Rahul used to beat her up frequently. She was brought to my house a few years ago in a very bad shape. She stayed over that night until we calmed her down by morning," a senior TV actress and Pratyusha's neighbour told SpotboyE.
"A year-and-half ago, a guy landed up from a small town and told a news channel that he had married Pratyusha. He even had pictures of their wedding. Pratyusha called up the channel and pleaded them not to run it- and the story never came out. Her life was in a total mess," she added.
Meanwhile, another report in SpotboyE states that the "Balika Vadhu" actress wanted to get married to Rahul and was planning her wedding outfit a few days before she breathed her last. Pratyusha had also approached designer Rohit Verma to design her outfit. Incidentally, the actress was supposed to meet the designer Saturday, April 2.
"Pratyusha had contacted me on March 22, asking me to design her wedding lehenga. She said that the date was not fixed but the wedding would happen soon. She requested me to design a golden lehenga for her. I was in London then, so we decided to have a meeting when I returned to the city. Believe it or not, we were supposed to meet today," Rahul said.
