Prabhas, who is gearing up for the release of his much-awaited Baahubali 2, has said that he is interested to be part of mega-budget movie based on MT Vasudevan Nair's popular novel Randamoozham, which retells the Hindu epic Mahabharatha from Bheema's perspective. The movie stars Mohanlal in the role of Bheema.
During a promotional event, Prabhas was quizzed whether he would be interested to be part of the movie. "Mohanlal sir is playing that role (Bheema). If he leaves any character for me, if I get a chance, why won't i," he said, in response to a question asked by a journalist.
Prabhas is already part of magnum opus Baahubali series. The actor has dedicated over five years for the two-part flick. Hence, if offered, the actor is expected to effortlessly fit into any role in the film.
The movie was announced recently and the movie became a focal point of debate once Bollywood's self-proclaimed critic Kamal R Khan mocked Mohanlal. He called the Malayalam star a miscast and wrote, "Sir @Mohanlal you look like Chota Bheem so then how will u play role of Bheem in Mahabharata? Why do you want to waste money of BR shetty?"
His comments enraged Mohanlal fans and they retaliated to his views by trolling him. It forced Kamal R Khan to apologise as he posted, "Sir @Mohanlal sorry to call you #ChotaBheem Coz I didn't know much about you. But now I know that you are a super star of Malayalam films [sic]."
The upcoming movie is said to be the most expensive movie made in India. UAE-based businessman BR Shetty is bankrolling the flick, which is a cinematic adaptation of MT Vasudevan Nair's Randamoozham. VA Shrikumar is directing the film, which will be narrated from the point of view of Bheema.
The movie will be shot in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu, and it will be dubbed in all major Indian and foreign languages. The Malayalam flick will be made in two parts and will go on floors in September 2018. The first part will be released in 2020 and the second part will hit screens 90 days later.
