Prabhas' popularity in the Hindi-speaking parts of India has increased by leaps and bounds following the massive success of Baahubali 2. This is now leading the makers of his previous movies to consider releasing his earlier films in Bollywood. First in the line that is ready to hit the screens is The Return Of Rebel 2, the dubbed version of the actor's Telugu flick Billa.
The Hindi rights of Billa have been sold to Goldmines Telefilms. The distributor has now released the trailer of The Return Of Rebel 2 on YouTube. The movie is expected to have a limited theatrical release and the satellite rights have been reportedly sold to a TV channel long ago.
Billa is the remake of Tamil movie of the same name. In fact, the movie is inspired by Amitabh Bachchan's Bollywood movie 'Don'. It was remade in Hindi by Shah Rukh Khan and later in Tamil and Telugu.
Prabhas will be seen in dual roles of a gangster (Billa) and an ordinary man (Ranga), who steps into the don's shoes under difficult circumstances. Anushka Shetty is the female lead and Namitha will be seen in a negative character. The Telugu version was a runaway hit.
People are curiously looking forward to see how The Return of Rebel 2 will be received by the Hindi audience.
Meanwhile, Prabhas, who is on a break after Baahubali 2, will start his next movie Saaho in July. It is a trilingual movie simultaneously made in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages. The hunt for the female lead in the Sujeeth-directorial is on.
There is a buzz that many of his Telugu movies will be dubbed into Hindi in the days to come.
