Debutant director Rohith VS' social media comment on the fate of his movie Adventures of Omanakuttan rubbed off on the audience resulting in Asif Ali starrer's first houseful show on Monday, May 23.

Despite being opened to positive response, Adventures of Omanakuttan had failed to perform well at the box office till Monday. Things changed after Rohith commented "If you want to watch the movie [Adventures of Omanakuttan], do it before it goes off the screen," [translated from Malayalam]," on one of the Facebook posts. Soon many celebrities, including Basil Joseph, Aashiq Abu, Ganesh Raj, Omar Lulu, Midhun Manuel Thomas, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Sunny Wayne, Rima Kallingal, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Adil Ibrahim and Shebin Benson had shared the comment of the director on their social media pages and extended their support to the whole team of Adventures of Omanakuttan.

And the good words resulted in a turnaround. The experimental movie ran to a packed house at Aries Plex SL Cinemas in Thiruvananthapuram for the night show on Monday. In a live Facebook video from the theatre, actor Saiju Govinda Kurup and movie's producer Antony Binoy had shared their excitement in seeing the houseful board at the ticket counter. Meanwhile, on Monday evening, Asif, who had deactivated his Facebook page for quite some time, came live on Fb and requested the audience to watch and support the movie.
"This is the first time I have tried a character role. I was not on Facebook for a while, but tried my best to promote the movie on TV channels and other means like I always do. Adventures of Omanakuttan is the result of a lot of people's hard work. It is a good movie and many called the performance my best till date. Some viewers have pointed at the drag in the first half, but it was done intentionally as the script demanded it. We gave complete freedom to the director to do the movie as he saw fit [translated from Malayalam]," Asif is heard saying in the video.
"If I am the reason you haven't watched the movie in theatre, I request you not to be prejudiced against Adventures of Omanakuttan in the light of my previous films. It's not an extraordinary movie but an experimental film. And if you support this film, it will give confidence to filmmakers to follow suit in future," Asif added.

Firstly I would say the biggest advantage of this movie is that we cannot see Asif ali in it. Yes, I mean it... This is an out and out Omanakuttan show. Bhavana was in all her grace and beautiful looks adds spices to the visuals. On a whole Adventures of omanakuttan is a total visual entertainment package which brings out the stellar performance of many artist. nnSiddique deserves special round of applause along with Aju vargheesh and Saiju kurup..

Debutant director Rohith VS made his debut remarkable. Asif Ali portrayed Omanakuttan with perfection and it is one of his ever best performances. And Bhavana as usual conquered the hearts with her charming looks and cool acting style... Aju Varghese, Sidhique, Shajon and Saiju Kurup had done their roles very well

The team has put together a great entertainer. I really enjoyed the movie. The characters are life like and we can really relate to their emotions and actions. Highly recommended for people ages 15 and above. :-)-
