It seems that Suriya has a penchant for cop roles in his films.
With "Singam 2" doing good business at the box office, Suriya has now shifted his focus to his next project with N. Lingusamy. Now, the south film industry is buzzing with rumours about this new film.
Latest buzz is that the Tamil actor will play the role of a doctor in the yet-to-be-titled film. Events that takes place in his life as a doctor will turn him into a cop in the second half. He will join the Indian Police Service to take on the criminals.
If the reports are to be believed, this will be the first time that the "Singam 2" actor will essay the role of a doctor. He has appeared in cop roles in some of his past films. It has to be remembered that the films in which Suriya has appeared as a police officer have all turned out to be box office hits including "Kaakha Kaakha", "Singam" and the latest release "Singam 2".
There is no official confirmation from the makers of Lingu film about Suriya's role.
Fans are waiting to see the work of this director-actor duo as they are teaming up for the first time. Lingu is a popular commercial director with several hit films to his credit including "Run", "Sandakozhi", "Paiyaa" and "Vettai". In similar lines, the Suriya-Lingu film is also expected to be a commercial entertainer that will impress the actor's fans.
The untitled flick is expected to go on floors in August. Samantha Ruth Prabhu will play the female lead. The film's music will be composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Meanwhile, Suriya's other film "Dhruva Natchathiram" with Gautham Menon which should have already commenced has been delayed due to some technical glitches.
