Soumya, popularly known as Sou is set to take a new turn in her career.
The anchor of the popular television show "Film Lounge" in Kappa TV will now play as Namitha Pramod's sister in her latest flick "Ormayundo Ee Mukham".
"I took up this project as all it demands from me is to be myself! I play Namitha's sister, a girl in her late teens. We are currently shooting in Bangalore. It is wonderful to work with Namitha, who is quite cool on and off screen. Even shooting the combination scenes involving the four of us triggers laughter riots often on the set, as we are quite at ease with each other in real life too, said Sou to The Times of India.
"Ormayundo Ee Mugham" also has Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aju Varghese, veteran actress Laksmi, Rohini and Edavela Babu in pivotal roles. Sou will be seen as a jovial character in the film.
The young talent is fascinated by the humility and humbleness of his co-star Vineeth Sreenivasan.
"I am amazed to see how humble, subtle, composed and kind he is. Someone of his stature and age is seldom so grounded; he is a great co-actor too," said the acress about Vineeth.
Soumya, who is a software engineer had played lead opposite Jayasurya in Rajiv Nath's "David and Goliath" and has appeared in Parthan Mohan's "One" and Santhosh Sivan's "Inam". She had also tried her luck behind the camera. The young talent worked as assistant director in Mamas's "Cinema Company", "Idavappathi" directed by Lenin Rajendran and "Jawan of Vellimala" directed by Anoop Kannan.
"Ormayundo Ee Mugham" is a romantic comedy entertainer directed by debutant Anwar Sadhiq, who was Vineeth's assistant. The cinematography of the film is done by Jithu Damodar and the music is composed by Shaan Rahman. The film is produced by Jeysun Elamkulam.
