Popular singer Vijay Yesudas recently made headlines when he announced that he would play a pivotal role in upcoming Dhanush movie "Maari". The latest we hear is that the actor will play a cop in the movie and is excited about the release of his debut movie.
"Playing the role of a cop is a completely different experience for me and I am enjoying it. It feels good to sport a khaki outfit and walk around on the set. But for me, it's all about performing well and doing justice to the role,' said Vijay Yesudas to The Times of India.
Vijay, who is also a real-life close friend of Dhanush, added that he made sure to take acting tips from his actor friend. "Taking acting tips from Dhanush himself is enough for me. I can learn a lot from him. The entire team is very supportive, and has helped me to grow as an actor," added the ace singer
Directed by Balaji Mohan, "Maari' comes with lot of expectation. The team had recently wrapped the shooting for the movie and is planning to release it soon.
Basking in the success of his latest movies like 'Shamitabh" and "Anegan", Dhanush reportedly has gone versatile again in "Maari".
Meanhwile, director Mohan is well-known for films like "Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi" and "Vaayai Moodi Pesavum." Both the films were critically-acclaimed and did a decent job at the box office.
Kajal Aggarwal will play the lead opposite Dhanush. The movie also has Robo Sankar and Kaali Venkat. The music of the movie is done by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography is by Om Prakash. The upcoming movie is produced by Sarath Kumar, Radhika Sarathkumar and Listin Stephen under the banner of Magic Frames.
