Renowned qawwali singer Amjad Sabri has been killed in an open gun fire in Karachi on Wednesday. The much popular Pakistani singer was shot dead while he was in his car, according to the Express Tribune.
Amjad was shot dead by some unidentified gunmen when he was crossing Liaquatabad area in Karachi. The report also said that Amjad's driver has also been critically injured in the attack.
Son of popular Qawwali singer late Haji Ghulam Farid Sabri, Amjad was one of the most popular singers of Pakistan. Police have reached the incident spot and investigations are on to nab the attackers.
Amjad was in news some time back when he alleged that the makers of the movie "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" violated copyrights by incorporating the song "Bhar Do Jholi" sung by Adnan Sami. He claimed rights on the song and alleging that the makers "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" used the song without his consent.
