Actor-director Pooja Bhatt has split with her husband of 11 years, Munish Makhija.
Announcing her separation on Twitter, the yesteryear actress put an end to the speculations around her wedlock.
"To all those who care & especially those that don't my husband Munna & Me have decided to part ways after 11 glorious years of marriage," she posted and added, "Our split as some might call it is amicable & we hold each other in the highest esteem for now and forever."
Bhatt also gave a reason as to why she was announcing her break-up to her followers. "The reason I explain Is because we are both part of the public domain. Our friends, well wishers & foes are free to now speculate. : )," she tweeted.
The two reportedly shared an incredible bonding on the sets of John Abraham starrer "Paap" (2004). Makhija, a VJ and populary known for the Channel V show "The Udham Singh Show", is also a restaurant owner in Mumbai.
However, cracks had begun to appear in their relationship many years ago. There were reports of the two staying separately in 2009 so that they could give each other some space. The actress, who owns a farmhouse in Kalote, was visited often by her now ex-husband, but he later quit frequenting the house.
"Previously, Munish used to go to the farmhouse on weekends and now he has stopped going there. I was there with him when he was shooting for the first season of his reality show (Cash Cab). I hardly saw him talking to Pooja on the phone. He never mentioned her in the conversations," DNA quoted a close friend as saying.
Bhatt, who was then repeatedly questioned about the incident, rubbished reports saying the news was absurd and the source was 'delusional'.
