This Pongal has been special for Tamil cinema lovers with their favourite stars giving them treats by releasing the posters, teasers and trailers of their upcoming films.
Idhu Namma Aalu
After a long wait, Simbu fans have got a double treat from the makers of "Idhu Namma Aalu", which is a romantic comedy entertainer. The teaser of the much-awaited film, which marks the return of ex-flames Simbu and Nayanthara, has been released much to the delight of the fans.
Besides the teaser, "Idhu Namma Aalu" team has released two new posters from the film.
Directed by Pandiraj, the Simbu starrer is one of the most-awaited films of 2015. Fans are looking forward to see the chemistry between Simbu and Nayanthara, which is expected to be one of the major highlights of the film.
Andrea, Santhanam and Soori are also part of the cast while Simbu's brother Kuralarasan is making his debut as a music composer. Chimbu Cine Arts is producing the film, which is expected to hit the screens by April 2015.
Komban trailer
The trailer of Karthi-Lakshmi Menon's "Komban" has been released. Looking at the trailer, one can expect the film to be a commercial drama with action, romance and sentiment.
With "Komban", Karthi has returned as a rural avatar after several years. He was last seen playing a rural character in his debut flick "Paruthiveeran" that hit the screens in 2007.
The actor is basking in the success of his recently-released "Madras" and it will be interesting to see whether "Komban" will strike gold at the box office.
The film, directed by Muthaiah of "Kutti Puli" fame, was initially slated to hit the screens for Pongal, but backed out of the race. An official announcement on the release date is still awaited.
Uttama Villain New Posters
A new poster of Kamal Haasan's "Uttama Villain" has been released. The poster is sure to kindle the curiosity surrounding the film.
It may be recalled that the makers of the film released the film's teaser on 13 January as a surprise treat for the fans. The teaser showcased Kamal Haasan's various looks in the film set in two different time periods.
The comedy drama, directed by Ramesh Aravind, has a big star cast including legendary director K Balachander, K Vishwanath, Jayaram, Urvashi, MS Bhaskar, Andrea, Parvathy and Pooja Kumar. The film's music is composed by Ghibran and the project is produced by Thirrupathi Brothers and Raaj Kamal Films International.
"Uttama Villain" is currently in the post-production stage and is likely to hit the screens in February 2015.
