Delhi police are likely to approach Bollywood starlet Nupur Mehta to join the investigation in connection to the Geetika Sharma suicide case.
Nupur had earlier worked with Geetika at Mint Cruise Casino in Goa, which is owned by former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda, who is currently placed in police custody for his role in Sharma's suicide.
The actress, who was seen in Hindi movie "Jo Bole So Nihaal", had worked in Mint Casino in 2009 to 2010. She said that she left the casino on account of Kanda's unprofessional behaviour. Nupur was also the vice-president of Kanda's now-defunct MDLR Airlines.
In 2009, Geetika had filed a police case in Goa against Nupur and her colleague Ankita Singh of stealing her laptop and other belongings from her room. However, she was later forced to withdraw the case against them.
According to police, both Ankita and Nupur are not directly related to the case, but can provide some useful information. Ankita, who is currently in Singapore, is suspected to have been close to Kanda.
When asked whether the starlet will be questioned in the case, Special Commissioner of Police (law and order) Dharmendra Kumar said that everybody who is associated with the case will be interrogated.
Meanwhile, Kumar said that a fresh charge of destruction of evidence would be slapped against Kanda.
"We will charge him for destruction of evidence. We have not charged him yet in this connection but we will do it," Kumar told reporters.
Besides acting in 2005 movie "Jo Bole So Nihaal" starring Sunny Deol and Kamaal Khan, Nupur has also worked in television ads and had been a part of Fiat calendar.
