The Pokemon Company has announced that it will be bringing back an important feature - Secret Bases in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The feature was forgotten in the interim time. It was not featured in Pokemon: Black and White, Pokemon: Black 2 and White 2, and Pokemon X and Y.
The new feature is titled 'Super-Secret Bases' and players will be able to showcase their creativity by decorating the base. Friends can join up and hang out at these bases, said the Pokemon Company in a post.
This feature will give players independence in managing it. They can set their own rules regarding the Pokemon battles. They will also be able to set up their own Pokemon Gym where trainers can sweat their Pokemon.
Players can share their Secret Bases with other players from other countries. These Secret Bases of others will have base members who will also be hanging out there.
Players will be able to meet other members of the base, where one can invite or can challenge them for a battle. But you can also poach another base member if they want and can be taken back to the invitee's base. Such players will become Secret Pals who will be instrumental in providing "special support skills during your main adventure." Both of these players can team up and play capture of the flag variation, where players need to collect more flags from the bases of others. This will raise the rank and help in the improvement of the Secret Pals' skills.
How to get these flags? Players will have to go near the Secret PC from the Secret Bases of others and examine the flag to get it.
Every day, players will be able to take one flag from each base. In order to boost the team's rank, then players will have to go to many Secret Bases and collect many flags. This will also lead to greater rewards and increase in the Secret Pals' skills. Based on the rank of the team, players can expect the color of the flag to change as well.
How to get started? Players will be meeting the Secret Base Expert Aarune and his Flygon in Hoenn region who will teach players everything about the Secret Bases.
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released on 21 November for Nintendo 3DS.
