For players who have both, Pokémon X and Y as well as Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, it is easier to trade as it is possible via GTS. But, it is not known how a player will trade if he has only one 3DS and no Pokebank.
Terming this trading as "tedious" and "risky", iDigitalTimes guides us through a video from Sork. It seems like the only way forward as of now.
We know that Pokebank was created just for this, but players have to pay a subscription fee for it. However, there are restrictions for Pokebank too. Players cannot transfer the held items and they cannot transfer the Pokemon that evolve via trading.
Players can trade using the steps mentioned below:
- Players will have to deposit the Pokémon from their Pokemon ORAS into the GTS. They have to see to it that they deposit the common ones like Magikarp or Wingull. Try putting down some outrageous Pokémon that no other trainer would want to.
- Try to be specific, especially with the gender, as it will filter out another trainer taking away your Pokémon.
- (OPTIONAL) Add a message to the trade request to identify your account quicker.
- Once deposited, boot up your Pokémon X and Y game and check out the GTS. Look for your account and give them the Pokémon you wanted.
However, players have to be aware that the Pokémon that they deposited might be taken by another trainer. Hence, it is always better to deposit a common Pokémon first than a Legendary Pokémon.
