The long wait for Niantic's location-based augmented reality game Pokemon Go finally ended for Indian fans on December 14. Despite the five-month delay, Pokemon Go has huge following in the sub-continent and to cash-in on the craze, Reliance Jio has collaborated with Niantic to host PokeStops and PokeGyms at its Digital Express and Mini outlets across India.
It has to be noted that the collaboration between Niantic and Reliance Jio is just a sponsorship deal similar to Starbucks and McDonald's in global markets. Consumers subscribing to rival operators such as Airtel, Idea, Vodafone and Aircel, among others can also install Pokemon Go and play.

How to play Pokemon Go:
For the uninitiated, Pokemon Go makes use of the smartphone's camera and GPS location feature to project virtual Pokemon creatures on the screen.
Players just have to go to designated locations shown on the virtual maps depicted on the smartphone to catch Pokemon creatures and train them in the Gym. If the players want to catch more Pokemons and consumable items in the game, they have to look for PokeStops. Pokemons can also be transferred to Professor Willow, who will reward players with candies.
