Pokemon Go, the AR-based mobile video game from Niantic is infusing new elements into the game following its November 19 update.
Following the recent data that was dug out by data miners, suggesting the existence of Ditto and other new features, reports have emerged that confirm the existence of Ditto in the game.
Ditto is the little purple blob, who has the ability to change into the Pokemon it battles. But, Ditto will be showing up as something else (it could be Rattatas, Pidgeys, Spearows and Magikarp) and it will reveal itself only after you have caught the Pokemon.
Players might have to catch several Pidgies or Rattatas or other Pokemon to get Ditto, which only reveals once it's caught.
Changes in Nearby feature
The Niantic developers revealed that they have expanded the Nearby features with the recent changes that were made. They were testing it only in San Francisco but now it has been expanded to other areas too. Apart from this the Sightings feature too has been tweaked.
Trainers in the following areas will be able to use the new Nearby and Sightings functionality:
- United States of America: All states west of the Mississippi River (except Hawaii and Alaska)
- Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the western half of Ontario.
- Australia: All states and territories
The feature has been changed to show only the Nearby feature.
Further, Niantic has also revealed that Trainers will earn 4x the XP if they use a Lucky Egg during the celebration.
Adjustments have also been made to CP (Combat Power) of various Pokemon. Pokemon like Alakazam, Rhydon, and Gengar will have their CP increased. Others will have their CP lowered. These changes will allow a more balanced and competitive battling and training experience in Gyms.
