Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited his mother Heeraben Modi on the occasion of his 66th birthday. PM Modi's mother lives with his younger brother Pankaj Modi in Gandhinagar.
Modi was welcomed with a grand reception in Ahmedabad on Friday night, shortly after he landed in Gujarat.
Many senior ministers including the Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Governor OP Kohli, the entire state Cabinet and many BJP leaders welcomed the Prime Minister at the airport. This is Modi's third visit to Gujarat in recent times where Assembly elections are to be held soon.
PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate several irrigation projects in the tribal district of Dahold later in day. "The Prime Minister will inaugurate Kadana-Hafeshwar irrigation project," Dahod collector Lalit Padaliya was quoted as saying by NDTV.
The PM will also address a rally at Limkheda town, which is around 25 km from the city. He is also scheduled to attend a function later in the noon where differently-abled people will be provided with aid.
