As Sony's next-generation console PlayStation 4's European release draws near, the Japanese brand has confirmed the list of games that will be go up on the console on day one.

Sony detailed in its PlayStation Blog Europe that Aveline Ship Figurehead DLC for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag can be downloaded for free for European PlayStation Plus subscribers. Other free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers include Housemarque's Resogun and Compulsion Games' Contrast.

It will also be offering 10 percent discount on Super Motherload and a 20 percent discount on Trine 2: Complete Story from 29 November to 13 December.

The console will be released in 20 European and Oceania countries on 29 November.

List of 18 Entertainment Apps lined up for PlayStation 4's Europe Launch

Sony has detailed the entire 18 entertainment apps that will be released for PlayStation 4.

When PlayStation 4 launched in North America it had 11 dedicated apps. Sony has said that all the apps can be used without having a PlayStation Plus subscription.

PlayStation firmware update is now available

Ahead of PlayStation 4's European launch, PlayStation Europe revealed that PlayStation 4's 1.51 firmware update is available for download. This is reportedly the same version that was released in North America.

Though the firmware's release was slated for 28 November, it was released a day earlier. Interested patrons can also download the update from computer and save it on USB and later copy it to PlayStation consoles.
