"PK" had already created a record by collecting ₹100 crore in just sixteen days, which is phenomenal for a Bollywood movie.
"PK" was released in China on 22 May in approximately 4,500 screens. The film also features Anushka Sharma in the female lead role and Sushant Singh Rajput in guest appearance.
The movie is directed by Rajkumer Hirani, who had also directed Aamir Khan's previous hit flick "3 Idiots". This movie, which was released in 2009, was also a big hit in China.
The success of "PK" has led to a series of discussions in the Chinese film market. According to popular English website Global Times, which is based in China, collection of "PK" is almost twice the total revenue of the five Indian films that were released in the country in the past six years.
Other Bollywood movies that made it big at the Chinese box office are "My Name is Kahan" (2010), "3 Idiots" (2009), "Dhoom 3" (2013), "Delhi Safari"(2012) and "Happy New Year" (2014).
