The excitement over "PK" release can be witnessed with its advance booking status. The pre-booking counter for "PK" opened on Monday and within 24 hours, it got a phenomenal response.
The film starring Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt will hit screens on 19 December, but the ticket booking started five days prior to its release and that too in full swing.
And a look at the online ticket booking portal shows that seats are filling fast for the Rajkumar Hirani directorial. At several theaters, especially in Mumbai and Bangalore, the tickets for Friday's afternoon and evening shows are all sold out.
The response from National Capital Region, Kolkata, Rajasthan and other north circuits is also good.
The pre-booking started on a slow note on Monday, but the ticket sales climbed sharply the next day. Going by the two-day advance booking status, one can say that the film is set to take a bumper opening on day one.
Furthermore, "PK" team has decided not to increase the ticket price as they want everyone to watch the film. This strategy should work in the favour of the film as it is releasing during holidays.
"The team feels that the film is universal and everyone should be able to see it," said Aamir's spokesperson in a statement.
Meanwhile, "PK" has generated a lot of hype due to its unique promotional event. The first poster of the film, featuring naked Aamir holding a transistor, managed to grab audience attention. The makers plan of not revealing the storyline has also garnered a lot of curiosity.
With all-around buzz and advance booking, it remains to be seen how much the film will earn on first day.
