The advance booking for the biggest release of this month "PK" starring Aamir Khan started on Monday and within less than 24 hours, the advance booking has gotten overwhelming response.
"PK" starring Aamir, Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt will release during the Christmas season and thus has a good opportunity to cash in on the festive time.
The advance booking, as usual, started five days before the release date, i.e. on Monday. The pre-booking counter opened in Mumbai, National Capital Region, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata and other circuits across India on Monday and it has already started to fill up.
At several theatres, including multiplexes and single screens, the first day evening show tickets are selling like hot cakes. In Bangalore, NCR and Mumbai circuits, evening shows tickets at several theatres are already sold out.
In Pune the response is comparatively dull, but it is expected to pick up over the week before its release.
However, on a positive side Saturday and Sunday's shows are also getting good response.
Looking at the first day status of advance booking, the film is expected to have a solid start on day one.
Aamir too has tweeted saying that the advance booking has got a bumper start at the domestic box office.
"4 days to go!! In Dubai today.. I belive it's a bumper advance booking. That makes me more nervous!! :-) #PKAana," Aamir tweeted on Monday.
"5 days to go and the advance booking opens tomorrow morning. Won't be able to sleep tonight. Wish me luck guys. #PKAana," he tweeted on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the film is releasing on Aamir's lucky date and trade analysts are expecting a bumper opening for "PK". The social media buzz for "PK" is already high and considering that it is Aamir and Rajkumar Hirani's project, the film will start on a good note.
But it remains to be seen whether it will break "Dhoom 3" and "Happy New Year" opening day record at domestic box office.
