Google Pixel 2-series set the benchmark really high for smartphone photography in the premium category and many phones came close and even matched Google's standards. After gaining immense liking from consumers and critics alike, all eyes are set on what Google plans to bring next.
In case you haven't guessed it yet, it is the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL that will redefine the premium smartphone experience, complete with great photography capabilities, pure Android experience and more. While rumours are rife with details about the new phone, there's a new bit of information about the Pixel 3-series that holds more value than the features itself.
Many are wondering when the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will finally arrive, so there can be a stop to all the rumours and speculations. Bloomberg has now reported that Google is planning to host a media event in New York on October 9, 2018, to unveil its next line of flagship smartphones.
The latest report contradicts the earlier predictions that the Pixel 3-series would officially be launched on October 4, seeing Google has previously chosen that date two years in a row. Well, not this time.
The delay is only by a few days, which shouldn't put off consumers, but it certainly keeps fans on the edge as they eagerly await Google's next invention. Speaking of the launch, earlier reports have suggested that Google might also three new Pixel smartwatches and an all-new Pixelbook 2018 edition.
Clearly, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL take the limelight here. Rumours have suggested that the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will feature notched displays. The Pixel 3 XL, as the name suggests, will have a larger display, measuring 6.7 inches diagonally, while the Pixel 3 will be comparatively small.
Other known details about the upcoming flagships include a single 12.2MP rear-facing camera like the Pixel 2 XL, dual cameras on the front, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 4GB?6GB RAM options, and Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. The Pixel 3 XL may feature a 3,430mAh battery with wireless charging support.
The pricing of the Pixel 3-series is expected to start at $649. But there's no concrete evidence to support the pricing rumour just yet. As we move closer to October, more and more details are likely to emerge and finally, Google will set the record straight on October 9. Stay tuned for updates.
