Amitabh Bachchan's Pink has entered its week 3 and has completed 17 days at the box office but is still able to garner decent collection at the domestic market.
Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the movie Pink has had a wonderful run at the Indian box office since its day 2. The court-room drama has already crossed Rs. 60 crore at the start of its 3rd week.
Although the film was free from any competition whatsoever in the first two weeks, much awaited movie MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has hit the screens on September 30. However, in spite of the big release, collection of Pink continued to remain steady.
Pink had beat the lifetime earnings of Mohenjo Daro on its 15th day and it took its collection to Rs. 60.21 crore net at the Indian box office by the end of Saturday.
Pink collected decent money on Sunday as well. The movie made a collection of Rs. 1.62 crore on its day 17. "#Pink collects 4.05 cr in Weekend 3... [Week 3] Fri 1.08 cr, Sat 1.35 cr, Sun 1.62 cr. Total: 61.83 cr. India biz. SUPER HIT!," tweeted Taran Adarsh.
Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu among others, the film received strong word of mouth and positive reviews.
Appreciation from all rounds had started pouring for the film soon after its release. However, the film's business is expected to come down in the coming days as the biopic on Dhoni is maintaining a stronghold at the box office.
