Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Pink has been witnessing a steady run at the Indian box office even after two weeks. The film has collected a good amount and is set to cross Rs 60 crore at the Indian box office in week three.
After collecting Rs 57.78 crore in two weeks, the film raked in Rs 1.08 crore on Friday, thereby taking its total collection to Rs 58.86 in the domestic market.
"#Pink remains STRONG, despite a major new release... Set to cross ₹ 60 cr... [Week 3] Fri 1.08 cr. Total: ₹ 58.86 cr. India biz. SUPER HIT!," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Pink has beat the lifetime Indian box office collection record of Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro (Rs 58 crore) and is set to beat Udta Punjab's domestic lifetime collection record (Rs 60.33 crore) in the next couple of days.
Despite having clashed with Raaz Reboot, Pink remained strong at the ticket counters across the country. Even Banjo and Parched, which released a week after Pink, failed to slow down the Big B and Taapsee Pannu-starrer. However, Pink is likely to face a threat from MS Dhoni: The Untold Story that has taken the box office by storm.
Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by Shoojit Sircar, Pink is a courtroom drama-thriller. It is the story of three independent girls who get into trouble during a party. Bachchan plays the role of lawyer Deepak Sehgal, who fights the case for Tapsee's character Minal Arora. Others who play key roles in the film are Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang, Piyush Mishra, Angad Bedi and Dhritiman Chatterjee.
