While it is known that Bollywood star Deepika Padukone had a long list of alleged ex-boyfriends, not many are aware of Nihar Pandya.
An aspiring actor, Nihar dated the actress during her modeling days. He is now set to make a mark in a film directed by prominent Tamil director Selvaraghavan, who is "Shamitabh" actor Dhanush's elder brother.
According to a report in DNA, the model will star in the remake of Tamil film "Kaadhan Kondein" (2003) that had Dhanush in the lead role.
"Selva has had an interesting if chequered career in Tamil cinema. He is ready for Hindi cinema with a remake of his own Tamil film Kaadhan Kondein, though on his own terms," a source told the daily.
"Selvaraghavan didn't want to repeat the leading man in the remake. He will certainly work with Dhanush later. But he's making his Hindi debut with Nihar Pandya in the lead."
Earlier, there were reports that Nihar will make his Bollywood debut with Prashant Chadha's directorial, the film script of which was rumoured to be inspired by Nihar and Deepika's relationship.
However, putting all rumours to rest, Nihar will now star in the remake of Selvaraghavan's psychological thriller.
Deepika met Nihar in an acting school and the duo was apparently in a live-in relationship before she broke up and moved on to Ranbir Kapoor.
While Deepika gained popularity with Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Om Shanti Om" (2007), Nihar was seen in a brief role in the Salman Khan starrer "Marigold"(2007).
Meanwhile, the "Bajirao Mastani" actress is busy promoting her upcoming film "Piku" also starring Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
