Popular Bengali actor, Pijush Ganguly (50) has died at a hosiptal on Sunday early morning, following an accident five days ago.
Ganguly died of multiple organ failure. The actor was taken on Belle Vue Clinic on 20 October, after his car had a head-on collision with a bus at Howrah.
"The doctors tried everything they could. But unfortunately, they could not save him. Since yesterday, his condition was critical," TOI quoted city mayor, Sovon Chatterjee as saying.
Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee also expressed grief at the demise of the talented actor. "Shocked and saddened that actor Pijush Ganguly died. He was close to us and very talented. My condolences to his family. RIP," tweeted the CM.
Ganguly has left behind his wife, Pamela Ganguly and a son. The actor has worked in a number of critically-acclaimed Bengali movies including, "Autograph", "Madly Bangali", "Goynar Baksho" and several others.
