As promised earlier, Indian media maintained outmost restraint in reporting Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's delivery. But it's not the same in new media. Several websites went to the extent of uploading pictures claiming to be Aishwarya Rai's baby but grandpa Amitabh Bachchan clarified that they are fake.
Amitabh tweeted that the pictures of Aishwarya Rai with her daughter are morphed. "Many morphed pictures of the 'little one' and with her and her Mother in hospital doing the rounds on the net ...all fake .. !!" he wrote. He also rubbished the reports by some section of the media that Aishwarya went for caesarean, saying that she chose for a normal delivery without any epidural or pain killers.
Meanwhile, he thanked the electronic and print media for their non interference and keeping a dignified distance while reporting the delivery of Aishwarya's first baby. He also thanked people who sent suggestions for the baby name, saying that some names are really good. He however said that the newly turned parents Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan will take the final call on the name of their daughter.
Amitabh also described the feeling of holding his granddaughter on his blog. This is what he wrote:
"The soft innocence of nature rests in my arms, oblivious of what else happens around her. Occasionally she opens her large and what looks now to be eyes of the lighter hue, which those that have dealt with similar, know shall change with time. Often the gentlest of smiles quiver across her pouted upper lip, the shut eyes bringing expression through the brows and the settling down to that dream she must dream. Her head covered in the littlest of head gear she will ever adorn, snuggles into her mini quilt of varied colors dominated by the pink softness of its material."
Former Miss World turned actress Aishwarya gave birth to a baby girl on November 15 at Seven Hills Hospital, Mumbai. Amitabh broke the news of the new addition to the Bachchan family a few minutes after the delivery.
