Italian scooter manufacturer Piaggio rolled out a new model, Vespa VX 125, in India with a whopping price-tag of ₹71,380.

The scooter packs additional features like front disc brake, tubeless tyres and optional beige seat. The latest model also gives customers new colour options such as Portovenere Verde (metallic green) and Vibrante Rosa (dual tone red and pink). Piaggio has discontinued the black and maroon shades from the Vespa scooter range due to declining demand.
"Piaggio is delighted to present Vespa VX to cater to a surging demand amongst the discerning Indian consumer. We hope to further strengthen the premium segment with the Vespa VX, offering the Indian youth that lifestyle stature they wish to be associated with. The new features not only offer a better riding experience, it brings the aspirational Indian a step closer to the Vespa Universe," said Piaggio Vehicles (India) Chairman and Managing Director Ravi Chopra.
With the addition of the new model which is being specially designed and developed for the Indian market, Piaggio hopes to expand its reach in the country. The company which currently markets two models, including the newly launched VX, plans to launch its third scooter in the sub-continent by the end of this year.
"After the success of the first phase in the Vespa launch with a single model just over a year ago, Piaggio is now moving into the second phase for the expansion of the product range," said Chopra.
