The project marks the second time collaboration of Ranjith and Rajinikanth after last year's "Kabali". Being bankrolled by Dhanush under the Wunderbar Films banner, the film's soundtrack album and background score were composed by Santhosh Narayanan. Starring Rajinikanth, Huma Qureshi, Eashwari Rao plays in the lead role. Veteran actor Nana Patekar, who will be seen as a ruthless, conniving politician, plays the antagonist, while Samuthirakani, Aruldoss, Anjali Patil, Sukanya, Aravind Akash, Sayaji Shinde, Ravi Kale, Pankaj Tripathi, Dhileepan, Yatin Karyekar, Sakshi Agarwal appears in the supporting role. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on June 7, 2018.
