Indian Short Film to make history at Sudance International Film Festival!

The festival which is due to take place in the month of January 2018, will feature short films from across the world which will compete for the top prize. The selection of Counterfeit Kunkoo is a one of its kind as its making history at the festival with its selection. It's become the the second only Indian film ever to be selected for completion at Sundance and after 16 years a short film from India will be competing at the fest. The last film to do so was Birju in 2002.

The film tells the story about a married woman who lives in a country where marital rape is not a legal crime.

Vijay who was last seen in PINK and Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Raag Desh, who plays the lead in the film, said, "It is the largest independent film festival in the world. And counterfeit kunkoo was made with absolute indie spirit where we hustled our way into making this film in difficult emotional n physical spaces. I’m looking forward to the audience response now. And if time permits, attend the festival."
