Ballet is Centuries Old
Ballet began in the early 1500s in Italy as entertainment for noble courts. It was familiarized in France by the wedding of Catherine de Medici of Italy to the King of France, Henry II in 1533 and became famous there and across Europe, leading to the fusion of French and Italian words used in ballet.
