Philips has introduced a new flagship Android smartphone named Aurora in China. This new smartphone retails at ₹37,000, approximately. Philips has not mentioned when this device would be globally available.
The flagship device has top end features and specification-wise, it can fight with the top end smartphones available around. Similar to Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One Max, Aurora i966 features a fingerprint sensor for extra security.
Based on a customised Android version named YunOS 3.0, this smartphone is powered by a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 based processor clocked at 2.5GHz along with 3GB of integrated RAM and 32GB of storage. The device also features a Sabre ES9018 chipset.
The smartphone features a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 1440x2560 resolution with a stunning pixel density of 534ppi and is protected by 2.5D arc glass and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The device also integrates a 20.7MP rear camera with LED flash, Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor, f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP front-facing camera.
Powered by a 3,000 mAh battery, Aurora i966 sports connectivity options like 4G LTE / 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
It also features Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which can charge the device up to 75% faster, according to Qualcomm.
