The second day of release of the action comedy "Phata Poster Nikla Hero" has seen an improvement at the box office in India.
The action comedy film has made a revenue of around ₹7 crore on second day. The Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'cruz starrer has raked in about ₹13 crore in two days. The film was released in around 2000 screens in India.
"#PPNH Fri ₹ 6 cr, Sat ₹ 7 cr. Total: ₹ 13 cr nett," trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.
"PPNH" opened to average occupancy on opening day, but it picked up on the next day in most of the circuits. The multiplexes in major cities have shown a good growth compared to first day. But single screens witnessed a drop in their collections.
On Sunday, if the film does well at the box office, the weekend collection of "PPNH" might cross ₹22 - ₹23 crore. The film is likely to struggle to earn its production cost of ₹40 crore. However, with no big film releasing this week, "PPNH" might earn its production cost back by second weekend of its release.
On 2 October, Ranbir Kapoor's "Besharam" will hit the screens in worldwide that might affect "PPNH" box office collections.
The family entertainer is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and features Salman Khan and Nargis Fakri in special appearances. Yesteryear actress Padmini Kolhapure, Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Mishra are featured in supporting roles.
