The first single from Rajinikanth's upcoming movie Petta has been released on Monday, December 3, at 6 pm. The number titled Marana Mass is sung by SP Balasubrahmanyam (SPB) along with music director Anirudh Ravichander and Vivek has penned the lyrics.
SP Balasubrahmanyam, after three movies and a gap of four years, is singing in an intro song for Rajinikanth again. The legendary singer has lent his voice for many hit tracks that include Naan Autokaaran in Baasha, En Peru Padayappa in Padayappa, Balleeilakka in Sivaji and Enge Pogutho Vaanam in Kochadiyaan.
There was a belief among filmmakers and the people from film industry that SP Balasubrahmanyam brings good luck to Rajinikanth and ensured to have at least one song by the veteran singer.
With Petta being an out-and-out Rajinikanth film with full swagger and punch dialogues, the makers decided to recreate the magic again with the tried-and-tested voice of SPB.
The upcoming movie is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Sun Pictures. Simran and Trisha Krishnan play female lead in the flick, which has M Sasikumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, J Mahendran, Guru Somasundaram and others are in the cast.
Vijay Sethupathi is said to be playing the role of a baddie in the flick.
