Pete Davidson, the SNL comedian had fans and people, in general, a bit worried for him as he posted an alarming note on his Instagram before deleting his account on the social media platform. While he did later in the day appear on Saturday Night Live, the message was troubling enough for the police to perform a "wellness check" on the comedian.

While the police met directly with Davidson, it is not exactly where the police met with him, reports CNN. NYPD Lt Paul Ng said that the check was done, but did not divulge any more details. Davidson posted the alarming message on Saturday, notes the report. The message read: "i really don't want to be on this earth anymore. i'm doing my best to stay here for you but i actually don't know how much longer i can last. all i've ever tried to do was help people. just remember i told you so." followed by a heart emoji. Davidson proceeded to delete his Instagram soon after.

Davidson is still recovering from the after-effects of his whirlwind romance/engagement with pop star Ariana Grande that ended rather publicly and abruptly in October this year. Apart from this, the comedian, who is known for his style of edgy comedy found himself at the centre of controversy several times this year. Just before his break-up with Grande, he spoke of switching out his partner's birth control pills with Tic-Tacs. The next month, he made fun of a veteran and congressional candidate from Texas who was wounded in Afghanistan and lost an eye.

The comedian who is known for pushing the limits on what can be considered comedy has also spoken of dealing with bullying all through 2018, ever since he started dating Grande. "I'm trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole entire world just trashes him without any facts or frame of reference," Davidson added that he has been bullied both online as well as in public.

"I just want you guys to know. No matter how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won't. I'm upset I even have to say this," he wrote. Davidson has been quite open about his mental health. He said that he has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.
