Peshwa Bajirao promo released: The mega-budget show looks magnificent

Sony Entertainment Television's upcoming show Peshwa Bajirao is set to hit the small screen soon. The makers recently released the first teaser of the mega budget show.

The short promo looks magnificent and colourful, and introduces Manish Wadhwa and Anuja Sathe as Bajirao's parents Balaji Vishwanath and Radhabai, respectively.

Recently, there were reports that Siddharth Nigam has been roped in to play the role of young Bajirao. Siddharth rose to popularity with his portrayal of Ashoka in popular show Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. If the report turns out to be true, it would be interesting to see the young actor in yet another powerful role.

Unlike the film Bajirao Mastaani, which revolved around the love story of Bajirao and Mastani, the TV show will focus on the journey of Peshwa. A huge set in the outskirts of Mumbai city has reportedly been set up.

Bollywood actress Isha Koppikar will apparently be portraying a key role on the show. The actress, who has been a part of several films including Darling, Kya Kool Hain Hum, 36 China Town and Don, will be making her TV debut with the show. Other key actors of Peshwa Bajirao are Nawab Shah, Pallavi Joshi and Gajendra Chauhan.

There were reports that Peshwa Bajirao is a Rs 100 crore project and the most expensive show ever made on the small screen. Helmed by Sphere Origins, the TV series is creatively produced by Invictus T Mediaworks.
