"PES 2017," the football simulation video game from Japan's Konami has drawn attention of gaming websites to the rather unimpressive names of its unlicensed clubs, especially those related to Premiere League clubs or as they are called in the game, "English League!"
Unlike "PES 2017's" rival, "FIFA 17" the game has fewer licensed clubs and has to rely on peculiar names to its unlicensed clubs, many of them are carry over from previous PES games. This year's game has only two officially licensed Premier League clubs, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Here are the names for unlicensed "English League" clubs in "PES 2017":
- Man Red (Manchester United)
- London FC (Chelsea)
- Merseyside Blue (Everton)
- East Dorsetshire (Bournemouth)
- East London (West Ham)
- Wearside (Sunderland)
- Man City (Manchester City)
- South Norwood (Crystal Palace)
- Hampshire Red (Southampton)
- North East London (Tottenham Hotspur)
- St. Red (Stoke City)
- Hertfordshire (Watford)
- Lancashire Claret (Burnley)
- Yorkshire Orange (Hull City)
- West Midlands Stripes (West Brom)
- East Midlands (Leicester City)
- Teesside (Middlesbrough)
- West Glamorgan City (Swansea City)
Previous versions of PES too featured "silly names" for the unlicensed clubs. Nevertheless, players will be able to change the team names via editor. It also allows players to access community-made option files.
Recently, Konami announced official partnership with Barcelona FC, FC Schalke, Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool.
