"Penn & Teller: Fool Us", the magic competition where competitors perform tricks for the magician-comedian duo Penn & Teller, will start airing season 2 on The CW, following their first run on Britain's ITV.
According to the format of the reality show, if any of the magicians is able to trick the world-renowned illusionists, he would be sent on a five-star trip to Las Vegas to perform the opening act in Penn & Teller's world-famous show at the Rio Hotel & Casino.
As of season 1, eleven magicians have been able to trick Penn & Teller.
"We love so much being beaten... It's very rare to think of situations in life where the people who have been beaten enjoy it more than the people who are cheering for it to happen," Penn Jillette told Your TV Link.
However, he is not foolish to believe that audiences can be fooled with camera tricks or editing tricks.
"The nice thing about 'Fool Us' is that because the trick is being done for us, we automatically show the audience that it's being done live. The magicians who come out and work for us get one shot. Once they start, they have to finish, and there's no way around that."
He also guarantees that although they (Penn & Teller) are on the show, they are not allowed to see the guest list or the trick list or be present at the rehearsals.
And whenever they have selected someone from the show to perform as part of their act, they have done a great job, said Jillette.
With "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" season 2, more great magicians will get a chance to perform with the magician-comedian duo. The new season will premiere on Monday, 6 July, with "Phone-y Business" at 8.00 pm (EST) on The CW. You can also stream it online via Hulu.
