Popular Malayalam film and television serial actress Reshmi Soman has entered wedlock again. She reportedly got married to Gopinath, a non-resident Indian, at Guruvayoor Temple in the last weekend of March. The marriage was arranged by their respective families and was attended by close family members and friends.
The actress chose to keep the news away from the media to avoid rumours, but the news somehow found its way to the public through online media. Reports suggest the actress will now take a break from her acting career and join her husband who is settled in the Middle East.
This is Reshmi's second marriage; she had initially married television serial director AM Nazeer and the news had then made headlines. The celebrity couple tied the knot in 2001 against the wishes of their parents and the actress continued acting, predominantly in Nazeer's serials. However, differences in their personal life eventually led to divorce, which was kept private.
Actress Reshmi was spotted at a dance event by PT Kunju Mohammed, who later introduced her in the movie "Magrib" while she was in Class VI. The actress later went on to do some noticeable roles in films that included "Ishtamaanu Nooruvattam", "Ennu Swantham Janakikutty" and "Varnapakkittu".
This was followed by a stint in television serials, beginning with "Hari", which was aired on Doordarshan. The actress then became part of many popular serials such as "Thaali", 'Akshaypathram", "Bharya", "Swararagam", "Sapatni", "Akkarapacha" and "Makalude Amma".
After her divorce from director Nazeer, Reshmi pursued her studies and did MBA. She then staged a comeback in the serial "Penmanassu" on Surya TV, and also did cookery shows.
