Popular television anchor Pearle Maaney is set to make a prominent appearance in an upcoming Malayalam film. The latest news suggests that she will play the lead role opposite Asif Ali in Lijo Jose Pellissery's "Double Barrel". Reportedly, this is expected to be the most interesting role ever done by Pearle.
"We are the silence breakers in the film and every time we make an appearance, something interesting can be expected to happen. The film's first schedule got over in Fort Kochi and the second has just begun in Goa. Everyone other than me sports a different and stylised look. I was told that I already look 'dangerous' enough and thus, there isn't a need to sport a different look for my role," said Pearle to The Times of India.
Pearle was last seen in Dulquer Salmaan's film "Njaan". Though she appeared in a cameo role as a tribal woman, Pearle received good appreciation from the audience.
Recently, she even replaced Jewel in the popular dance reality show "D4Dance" in Mazhavil Manoroma as the latter joined the sets of Mammootty's "Pathemari", directed by Salim Ahamed.
Though the makers of the movie "Double Barrel" have not revealed much about the film, sources close to the film says that it is shot on a lavish set, which is said to be the first of its kind in Malayalam. The movie is shot in Kochi, Goa and Lakshadweep.
The film also has Arya, Prithviraj, Indrajith, Isha Sharwani, Swathi Reddy, Sunny Wayne, Vijay Babu, Manu, Anil Murali, Sahid Yahiya, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Parvathi Menon and Sherrin Varghese in important roles.
The music of "Double Barrel" is composed by Prashant Pillai, who had done music for Lijo's earlier films and the cinematography will be handled by Abhinandhan Ramanujan. The film is produced jointly by August Cinemas Pvt Ltd and Amen Movie Monastery.
