Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan is making headlines yet again but not for his films this time. Reports claim that the Power Star may soon make his debut on the small screen. While there is absolutely no sign of a comeback on the big screen, speculations are rife that he could soon be seen in a television show much like Aamir Khan's Satyamev Jayate.
Pawan Kalyan hasn't officially signed any new film projects since his last film, Agnyaathavaasi. Agnyaathavaasi, which was written and directed by filmmaker, Trivikram Srinivas, failed to cast a spell on the audience.
Since then, Pawan has been focussing on his political career. Currently, Pawan is on a tour across the Telegu states, engaging with people and gearing up for the upcoming elections.
According to reports, Pawan has been in awe of the way Kamal Hassan has been using the television to strengthen his ties with the masses ahead of the elections and Pawan intends to do the same. Pawan's new show will reportedly focus on the pressing issues faced by the Telugu states and the shooting for the programme will reportedly start next month.
While some people believe that the talk show is a desperate attempt made by Pawan to reach out to the masses, others believe that he's preparing to quit films and become a full-time politician.
The TV show is expected to go on air on 99 TV, which was recently bought by the core members of Jana Sena Party, founded by Pawan.
Confirming the news of the small screen debut, a source close to him recently said, "Pawan relishes having an opportunity to talk about social issues. Since he's venturing into active politics, he feels that the show will give him greater insight into various social problems."
As an audience, it will be really interesting to see whether Pawan is able to retain his big screen charm in the silver screen as well.
