Pawan Kalyan's 'Sardar Gabbar Singh' beats Rajamouli's 'Bahubali' opening records in 4 areas

Pawan Kalyan's "Sardar Gabbar Singh" (Sardaar) has beaten the opening day collection records of SS Rajamouli's "Bahubali: Beginning" in areas like Vizag, Krishna, Godavari East and West.

Power star Pawan Kalyan is the No. 1 actor in the Telugu film industry in terms of popularity and his movies held most of the top collection records at the box office in various regions. But "Bahubali: Beginning" has now set new benchmarks everywhere.

Trade experts had predicted that the actor's star power and the hype and curiosity generated by the success of "Gabbar Singh" would help "Sardar Gabbar Singh" shatter at least some records of "Bahubali: Beginning." The movie has been successful to certain extent on the first day of its release.

"Bahubali: Beginning" was released in over 115 screens in Vizag and had collected a record share of Rs 1.75 crore on its opening day. Now, "Sardar Gabbar Singh" graced 125 screens in the region and earned a huge share of Rs 2.01 crore on the first day.

The Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer had collected a share of Rs. 1.25 crore from over 100 screens at the Krishna box office on the first day of its release. The Pawan Kalyan and Kajal Aggarwal starrer has earned Rs. 1.51 crore share from 82 screens in the area on its opening day. The per-screen average of "Sardar Gabbar Singh" is much bigger than that of "Bahubali."

"Bahubali" had earned Rs. 1.98 crore and Rs. 2.57 crore shares at the Godavari East and West box office, respectively, on its opening day. "Sardar Gabbar Singh" has collected Rs. 2.14 crore and Rs. 2.70 crore in these two areas, respectively.

"Attarintiki Daredi," "Srimanthudu," "Bahubali" and "Sardar Gabbar Singh" are all time biggest openers in Vizag, Krishna, Godavari East and West. Here is the table of their estimated collection share in these regions.
