Raashi Khanna, Rakul Preet Singh and Regina Cassandra are reportedly in the race to bag the coveted role of second female lead in Pawan Kalyan's "Gabbar Singh 2".
Speculation about a sequel to "Gabbar Singh" started soon after its release in theatres in 2012. There have been even rumours about its director, producer, heroine and other technical team, but none of them was officially confirmed. Yet, rumours surrounding "Gabbar Singh 2" continue to do the rounds.
The latest buzz in film nagar is that "Gabbar Singh 2" has two female leads and actress Anisha Ambrose has already been roped in to play the first female lead. Pawan Kalyan's friend Sharat Marrar, who is producing the film, is now in search of the second lead, which is said to be a key role in the movie.
Reports suggest that Sharat Marrar has a list of actresses who are suitable for the role of the second heroine in "Gabbar Singh 2". Young actresses such as Raashi Khanna, Rakul Preet Singh and Regina Cassandra are said to be top contenders for the role. The producer is reportedly in talks with them and expected to make an official announcement after finalising one of them.
"Gabbar Singh 2" was to go on floors soon after the release of Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daredi", but the project was delayed because of the launch his political outfit Jana Sena. Later, it was rumoured that the Power Star would start shooting for the movie after the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. But he went on to shoot for Venkatesh's "Gopala Gopala", which was released earlier this year.
Initially, "Racha" fame Sampath Nandi was roped in to direct Pawan Kalyan in "Gabbar Singh 2". He had reportedly written the script for the film, but walked out of the project due to delay in its launch. Later, director Bobby was signed in for the film and latest reports suggest that he is also out now. It is rumoured that Pawan Kalyan himself with direct the movie.
