Power star Pawan Kalyan and producer Sharrath Marrar are planning to dub "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" (SGS) in Hindi and release its Bollywood version along with its original version.
The speculations about the Hindi version of "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" started doing the rounds after Bollywood film critic Anupama Chopra visited the sets of the movie in Hyderabad. On March 6, she interviewed Pawan Kalyan on the sets of the movie and the photo featuring the two created lot of buzz on social media on the day.
The interview will be released on official YouTube channel of her show "Film Companion" soon. After the interview, Anupama Chopra posted her photo with the Telugu actor and wrote, "What an amazing experience! The #PowerStar @PawanKalyan is both gracious & inspiring."
The people in the industry think that this interview hints at Pawan Kalyan's foray into Hindi film industry. It must be the actor's way of promoting himself and "Sardaar Gabbar Singh." The sources from the industry say the makers will soon make an official announcement about it.
Pawan Kalyan may not have done a straight Bollywood movie, but all his recent Telugu movies were dubbed in Hindi and telecast on different Hindi TV channels. He is a known face among the Hindi speaking community. If it is dubbed in Hindi and released simultaneously with the Telugu version, "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" will definitely do good business at the North Indian box office, opine trade experts.
"Sardaar Gabbar Singh" is a sequel to action comedy movie "Gabbar Singh," which is a remake of Salman Khan's blockbuster movie "Dabangg." The prequel was dubbed in Hindi as "Policewala Gunda," which has become hit with TV audience who are eager to watch the sequel. Kajal Aggarwal, who has starred in some Bollywood movies, is playing the female lead in the film.
Interestingly, Eros International is one of the producers of "Sardaar Gabbar Singh." Pawan Kalyan's collaboration with the leading Bollywood production and distribution house is another reason that has fuelled the rumours about its Hindi version. The sources say that this studio will promote and distribute the Hindi version of the movie.
However "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" is set to hit the screens on April 8. On March 9, producer Sharrath Marar tweeted, "#SardaarGabbarSingh, constables, goons & gangs, all working hard for a Blockbuster release on April 8th. #PawanKalyan (sic)" He added, "#SardaarGabbarSingh audio release next weekend. Date to be finalised soon."
