The rumours about Pawan Kalyan starring in the Telugu remake of "Kaththi" have been creating a lot of buzz in the media ever since the movie hit theatres.
The latest news is that the film, which has become a blockbuster hit at the box office, will not be remade in Telugu for two reasons.
It was rumoured that producer Tagore Madhu wanted to remake "Kaththi" in Telugu and he had planned to meet Power Star Pawan Kalyan with the offer. But the latest buzz is that Pawan, who is busy with the production of his two films, "Gopala Gopala" and "Gabbar Singh 2", is not interested to work in the remake of the Tamil movie.
There is another reason doing the rounds that the makers of "Kaththi" have sold the dubbing rights of the movie months before its release and producer Tagore Madhu has acquired the rights of the Telugu version for a whopping price. It is reported that the dubbing works are currently progressing at a brisk space. The producers are expected to announce the release date of the Telugu version soon.
Meanwhile, Vijay, who has played the lead role in the movie "Kaththi", does not want his blockbuster film to be remade in Telugu. Rather, he prefers it to be dubbed. "Vijay sir was really not keen about remake. He wanted the dubbed Telugu version to be released," a source close to the producers of "Kaththi" told IANS.
Released in theatres worldwide on 22 October, "Kaththi" got an earth-shattering opening and has made a record breaking collection at the box office in eight-day-extended first week. Following its massive opening, the rumours about its Telugu remake started doing rounds down South.
It was rumoured that Pawan and director Trivikram Srinivas were considered for the Telugu remake of the Ilayathalapathy starrer.
"Several producers have expressed interest to remake "Kaththi" in Telugu. Pawan Kalyan is the top contender in the list of actors to play the lead in the remake. But the makers of the original haven't yet sold the remake rights," the source had told IANS.
