Pawan Kalyan, who is currently basking in the successful opening of his "Sardar Gabbar Singh," has confirmed that he will star in the Telugu remake of Ajith Kumar's Tamil film "Vedalam."
The rumours about the Telugu remake of "Vedalam" have been doing the rounds in the media for quite some time now. Pawan Kalyan's confirmation came when he was quizzed about it during the promotion of "Sardar Gabbar Singh." The actor says the script needs to be tweaked to suit the taste of local audience. Hence it may take some time for it to go on the floors.
"It's true that I've been approached with the offer. However, the script has to be tweaked for Telugu audiences and it's going to take some time. Currently, I can't confirm when the project will go on the floors," IANS quoted Pawan Kalyan as saying. "The official announcement will be made soon," the actor added.
"Vedalam" is a Tamil action-masala film, which has been written and directed by Siva. The story is about a peace-loving soft-hearted person Ganesh (Ajith Kumar). He lands in a big problem when he tips off the police about a trio of criminal brothers. When the criminals try to seek revenge, they realise that he has a score to settle with them too.
"Vedalam" is a routine formulaic mass entertainer film. It is the one-man show of Ajith Kumar. The movie has become one of the highest grossing Tamil films of all time. The role played by Ajith is tailor-made for Pawan Kalyan and its Telugu remake should certainly be a grand treat for his fans.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan's latest outing, "Sardar Gabbar Singh," has been released in theatres April 8. Now he is gearing to kick-start the shooting of his forthcoming films. Other than the Vedalam remake, the actor has a project with filmmaker SJ Suryah lined up for shooting. His fans, of course, would be eagerly waiting to know which one of these two films will be the first to take off.
