Paul Walker's Brother Cody will not debut in "Fast & Furious 8" as he has bagged his first major role in a film, where he'll feature opposite Nicolas Cage.
Paul Walker's youngest brother Cody, who was expected to begin his acting career with "Fast & Furious 8", seems to have bagged his first major film role opposite Nicolas Cage in "USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage".
Cody Walker had earlier expressed his eagerness to pursue an acting career in Hollywood, and having helped complete "Fast & Furious 7" after the unexpected death of his brother Paul, Cody was considered to be the strongest contender to be cast in "Fast & Furious 8".
As we all know that after Paul Walker's accident, it was Cody, who looks a lot like his elder brother, featured for a small role as a body double for Paul and helped Universal Pictures complete "Furious 7". And, fans thought it was but obvious that the younger brother will replace his elder brother in the next instalment of the franchise, "Furious 8".
But, Cody scored his first significant role opposite Nicolas Cage in "USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage", a film directed by Mario Van Peebles.
Set in the time of World War II, the film is based on a true story about a US warship that was destroyed by a Japanese torpedo in the Pacific in 1945. It shows how nearly 1,200 crew members onboard the warship were stranded in the Philippine Sea for five days after delivering parts for the first atomic bomb in a top secret mission. Only 317 survived after sharks began eating those who managed to get off-board.
According to Deadline, in "USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage", which releases in 2016, Cage will play Captain Charles McVay, the commander who struggles to keep his men alive after their ship, while on this secret mission, sinks within 12 minutes of being hit by a torpedo.
The report suggests that Cody Walker will play one of those soldiers, who struggled to survive among the sharks.
"USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage" is scheduled to release in 2016.
