The mortal remains of "Fast & Furious" star Paul Walker will be reportedly put to rest this weekend; two weeks after he was killed in a tragic single-car accident.
The 40-year-old actor and his friend Roger Rodas died on 30 November when their Porsche Carrera GT burst into flames, after hitting a utility pole and a tree in Santa Clarita, Los Angeles. According to autopsy results, the actor died of "combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries" and his friend of "multiple traumatic injuries". [READ: Paul Walker Conspiracy Theories]
According to Radar Online, the actor's body was shifted from the mortuary at Hollywood's Forest Lawn Memorial Park to a crematory in Glendale, California ahead of the funeral service, and the burial will take place on Saturday.
"The family intends on dividing Paul's ashes between an urn and keepsakes," a source told Radar Online.
A source close to Walker's family had earlier told TMZ that the funeral service would be a private affair, keeping in mind the actor's 15-year-old daughter Meadow, who is devastated by the sudden death of her dad. The family does not want the teenager to be surrounded by strangers at a time when she is grieving the loss. However, it added that the "Fast & Furious" cast and crew would be there, as they were like family to Walker.
Universal Pictures had earlier announced that "Fast & Furious 7" production would be halted following the demise of Walker, who played a vital role in the franchise's films.
TMZ had reported that a larger memorial service for Walker is expected to be held later, though it would also be by invitation only. However, the actor's official Facebook page has announced a global tribute ceremony.
"We've seen the most incredible outpouring of support from Paul Walker fans over the past week. To those who have attended the many tributes worldwide, posted heartfelt messages online, and supported his charity Reach Out Worldwide -- we'd just like to say THANK YOU. Your gestures of love have meant so much. We promise to keep you updated via Paul's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, including on our plans for a global tribute. - Team PW," read the post.
