Hollywood actor Paul Walker, popularly known for his role as Brian O'Conner in the "Fast and Furious" franchise, died in a car crash in Los Angeles on Saturday.
The 40-year-old actor was sitting in the passenger seat of Porsche GT, when his friend at the driving seat lost control of the vehicle, which collided with a telegraph pole in Santa Clarita at 3:30pm (local time).
Walker's Twitter handle broke the tragic news with a post: "It's with a heavy heart that we must confirm Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident."
Paul William Walker was on his way to a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide when he passed away in the tragic car accident. "He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. - #TeamPW," said on Facebook
Walker was currently filming the seventh installment of "Fast and Furious" with British action star Jason Statham and actor Vin Diesel.
Two days back, Walker had given an interview regarding the film to an entertainment website.
He spoke about his relationship with co-star Vin Diesel, "Vin and I are so east-coast-meets-west-coast and we have different approaches to life. We found a respect for one another but we were such opposite ends of the spectrum. I don't know if we necessarily found a stride together because there are certain days I still want to crack him in the head. But he looks at me and there are days he wants to crack me in the head too. Then there are times he'll look at me and say, 'Man, I wish I could be more like you', and I'm like, 'I wish I could be more like you'," he told the website.
However, MediaMass.net reported that Walker has been a victim of a hoax. "He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet," a representative for the actor told the website.
